After many hours of sweat, blood, and tears, my first skin for Winamp (and my second skin ever) is finished! I can scarcely believe how far it has come since the early days, and that its taken me a colossal 150hours to get this far! Still, the result is definately worth it in my opinion, and i've gained a loads of knowledge on the Winamp3 skinning process that'll inevitably help me with future skinning projects. The only regret I have is that Brightamp is kinda heavy on the processor compared to some other skins (a result of all the alpha-smoothing), but its a very minor issue with modern processors anyway. Kudos go to Hippy, Boostr29, nkj, and all the other cool peeps who helped me iron the bugs out of the final version - you people are stars!
Anyway, now that i'm free once more, what of future projects? Well, after a week of rest playing UT2003 and Unreal2, I intend to design a splash screen for www.clanrsi.co.uk so that visitors can select between the Quake3 and UT2003 divisions of the clan. In true fashion for me, however, I'm gonna go a bit overboard and try to render a vignette action-style piece in 3dsMax 5. The end result will hopefully be of poster-quality, and will get me one step closer to my ultimate goal - matching the talent of my creative hero,
Rorshach.
